Somehow bank holidays and long weekends make all the other working days even worse

Run my own company doing something I still really enjoy after 20 years - only work 3 days a week as that pays enough to keep me in Single Malts and happiness.

I've been working in the City for 30 years this summer. It was a career I wanted from the end age of 16 when my maths teacher told the class each day how his BT shares were doing. I was hooked.
I've loved pretty much every year and been thankful to have been part of the industry. Traded lots of asset classes and products and spent a number of years living in Tokyo in the 90's. Its paid for a lot of 'T-Shirts' and I don't really want for anything that's not simply daft.
Now though, the regulators don't want the traders and much of it is a drag. I used to say to myself when others sounded disillusioned, that when I sounded like them, it would be time for a change. I find myself sounding like them more and more....
I've been more than fortunate, to hate your job and be stuck there must be soul destroying.

I really enjoy my job (software developer) although did not get much satisfaction out of it when I was working in the investment banking sector. Jumped ship five years ago and now work for a charity (web site, payments and some finance stuff) and in spite of the pay cut I get proper job satisfaction too.

I love my job. Over the weekend I was at St. Georges Park running an event for the FA. This week I am most creating graphics for the EFL and once thats finished its on to creating graphics for the Premier League, ready for their shareholders meeting in may.

Been doing mine with various changes to keep me interested for 25 years.
I barely work an hour a day, have 46 days holiday a year, no one bothers me, great pension ahead, average salary.
In my head, I retired when I was fourty and have no ambition to flog my guts out

This time last year I would have said yes. I was absolutely miserable. But it's amazing what a change of manager can do.

After the 2010 election, I started to hate my job and some of the shits I worked and interacted with. So I quit. I've done a lot more travelling and have found ways to truly help people. I'm much happier.
